Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03008179A1] The invention relates to a method for producing an embossed effect on a plastic sheet. Said method is characterized by the following steps: a) applying a solvent mixture, containing a varnish, in liquid form to a section of the plastic sheet, whereby the surface of said plastic sheet is essentially inert with respect to the solvent, b) drying said solvent, containing a varnish, c) curing the varnish into a laminated varnish layer, binding to the overall surface section of the sheet, d) shrinking the laminated varnish layer, during the simultaneous stretching of the laminated plastic sheet beneath the laminated varnish layer, without wrinkling of the plastic sheet.
