Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03006786A1] The invention relates to a method for producing and expanding earth boreholes, or for destroying and replacing underground pipelines, by means of a tool that is mounted onto the end of a drill pipe, driven by a drilling device. According to said method, the drill pipe is constructed from individual sections that are to be interconnected, in a machine pit (starting pit). The aim of the invention is to permit the use of drill pipe sections, which are as long, or almost as long as the diameter of the machine pit. To achieve this, the drilling device is displaced prior to the introduction of a new drill pipe section, for example positioned at an incline, in such a way that the drill pipe section can be pushed, without obstruction, into the rear end of a drill pipe section that has already been inserted into the earth and that projects into the machine pit, for example from outside the pit into the drilling device. Once the drill pipe section has been introduced, the drilling device together with said drill pipe section is brought into alignment with the drilling direction or with the drill pipe part that is already in the earth.
