Abstract (en)
A process for controlling the heating of glow plugs in a diesel engine comprises emulating the thermal behavior of the plug on heating and cooling and using this information as control data for controlling the heating process. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the above process using a physical model and energy store.

Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Steuern der Aufheizung der Glühkerzen eines Dieselmotors. Um bei der Steuerung der Bestromung der Glühkerzen (3) eines Dieselmotors das thermische Verhalten der Glühkerzen berücksichtigen zu können, wird über ein physikalisches Modell das thermische Verhalten der Glühkerzen (3) emuliert. Aus dem entsprechenden Ausgangssignal des Modells (4), das zur Glühkerzentemperatur proportional ist, wird ein Bezugssignal gebildet, das als Steuergröße an der den Heizstrom der Glühkerzen (3) steuernden Steuerelektronik (12) liegt, die dementsprechend die Aufheizung der Glühkerzen (3) unter Heranziehung der aus der Emulation ermittelten tatsächlichen Glühkerzentemperatur steuert. <IMAGE>
