Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03011400A1] The invention relates to training equipment, in particular an elliptical trainer, comprising a respective standing platform for the left and right foot of the user, each platform being located on a respective foot bar. The front end of the foot bar is connected by means of a pivot bearing to a bar in such a way that it can pivot, said bar being in turn pivotally mounted on a supporting column above the pivot bearing by means of an additional pivot bearing. Hand grips are configured above said additional pivot bearing. The rear end of the foot bar is connected in a pivoting manner to a lever arm by means of a third pivot bearing, two lever arms of this type, which are offset by 180 DEG , engaging with a rotational shaft (20), which is connected to a drive shaft (23) of a flywheel (21) that can be braked by means of an eddy-current brake. The invention is characterised in that a free-wheel (32) is provided between the drive shaft (23) and the flywheel (21).
