[origin: WO0209992A1] The invention relates to a main tandem cylinder (20) comprising two plunger pistons (1, 3). The invention is characterised in that it is constructed in the most simple and most economical way possible. The round-shaped annular grooves (16 - 19) are inserted directly into the housing (15) of the master cylinder (20) in order to accommodate sealing joints i.e. the primary joint (6) and in another embodiment for the primary joint (7), the piston which is situated on the side of the pressure rod, as well as the secondary joints (12, 14) of both pistons (1, 3). Further advantages are proposed for the collecting annular grooves (45, 46) at the level of the connecting outlets for the compensating holder (5, 10).
