Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03012240A1] The invention relates to a pneumatic roller blind constructed from a pneumatic body, comprising a spacer material in which two material layers are connected by means of a number of spacer threads. The pneumatic body comprises two lateral closures and one of each of an upper and lower end closure (10), with a bar (23) attached to the latter, the weight of which can draw the roller blind downwards. The whole pneumatic body is coated with a layer of flexible plastic and thus made airtight. The roller blind is provided with sheets on the outside thereof, which extend over the whole width thereof. When the roller blind, which can be fully wound on a tube (6) around an axis (1), is fully unwound, said blind can be pressurised with air pressure, thus tensioning the distance threads and the lateral and end closures (10) contact with the structural parts (3) of a building which surround the roller blind. The drive for the roller blind can be provided by a tube motor arranged within the tube (6) which may also contain a fan for generating the air pressure. The axle (1) is fixed to a structural piece (3) of the building by means of fixtures (2).
