[origin: FR2805871A1] The working chambers (8,9) of a double piston (2,3) damper (1) complete with a restrictor (ML) between these chambers, has a feed (12,13) from a replenishing chamber (11) to compensate for any loss of damping fluid (10), which may occur across the pistons (2,3) The damper (1) consists of two pistons (2,3) each fixed at either end of a piston rod (4) and designed to slide in a main compression chamber (5) on either side of an intermediate partition (7). This partition forms two secondary working chambers (8,9), which are joined by a flow restrictor (ML), which throttles the damping fluid (10) circulating between the two chambers (8,9) under the movement of the pistons (2,3). The damper unit contains a replenishing chamber (11) and a feed (12,13) that replenishes the damping fluid (10) in one of the secondary working chambers (8,9) to compensate for any loss of fluid (10) across the pistons (2,3).
