[origin: EP1410883A1] Device for chopping foodstuffs, especially fruit, vegetables, etc., comprises a main body having a knife arranged between two longitudinal edges (3), inserts for changing the chopping thickness which are inserted between the side edges so that their surface lies parallel to the knife plane, and a container (10) for the inserts not in use. The container is removably fixed over the main body so that the container covers the knife. Preferred Features: The container has guide parts (11) for sliding it over the side edges of the device.
