[origin: EP1411194A1] The door lock has a lock mechanism with an operating drive having an electric motor and a symmetrical setting element (3) and a switch lever (2), moved between different positions via the operating drive. At least 2 different positions of the setting element correspond to the same switch position of the switch lever, the setting element having a guide (5,6) engaged by a pin (7) of the switch lever, the number of guide sections corresponding to the number of initial positions of the setting element, with manual resetting of the switch lever causing the setting element to be returned to an initial position. An Independent claim for a setting element for an automobile door is also included.
