Abstract (en)
The device has a gas-tight housing filled with a quenching gas and containing at least one main contact arrangement (10,13) with a fixed (13) and a movable (10) contact. Each main contact arrangement is connected in parallel with a spark contact arrangement that lags its switching movement and has a spark quenching coil. A spark cooling element (16) is arranged on the main contact arrangement with at least one interaction section (18) for cooling the spark during the switching process.

Um bei einem Leistungsschalter (1) zum Unterbrechen eines elektrischen Stromes mit einem gasdichten Gehäuse (2), das mit einem Löschgas befüllt ist und in dem wenigstens eine Hauptkontaktanordnung (10,13) angeordnet ist, die einen Festkontakt (13) und ein Bewegkontakt (10) aufweist, wobei jede Hauptkontaktanordnung (10, 13) zu einer Lichtbogenkontaktanordnung elektrisch parallel geschaltet ist, die der Hauptkontaktanordnung (10,13) in ihrer Schaltbewegung nacheilt und mit einer Löschspule zum Löschen eines Lichtbogens ausgerüstet ist, die Kommutierung des Stromes auf die Lichtbogenkontaktanordnung beim Trennen der Hauptkontaktanordnung (10,13) zu beschleunigen, wird vorgeschlagen, dass an der Hauptkontaktanordnung (10,13) ein Lichtbogenkühlelement (16) vorgesehen ist, das wenigstens einen Wechselwirkungsabschnitt (18) zur Kühlung des Lichtbogens während des Schaltprozesses aufweist. <IMAGE>
