Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03008695A1] The sensor system of a water-bearing domestic appliance, in particular a washing machine comprising programme control, supplies measured data, which can be evaluated for controlling the programmes. Sensors are thus used to monitor the function of the mechanical drive of the domestic appliance. If a malfunction occurs in the drive system, e.g. if the V-belt for the washing drum splits, an alerting signal is triggered. According to the invention, the measured values of the sensor system taken when the drive unit is idle and in motion are evaluated in relation to one another and are optionally compared with a stored set value.
