[origin: WO03006931A2] The invention relates to a method for compensating the measurement deviation of an air-flow sensor, caused by the accumulation of dirt or by ageing, said sensor being located in a flow channel. To compensate the measurement error, the sensor is impinged by a blast of air and the response time of the sensor is evaluated. The sensor error caused by the coating of dirt or ageing is then corrected based on the response time.
