[origin: WO03012511A1] Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kopplungseinheit (1) zur optischen Kopplung eines mehrkanaligen optischen Steckelements (8) mit mindestens einem opto-elektronischen Wandler (11) einer mehrkanaligen Sende- und/oder Empfangseinheit (10) und ein Verfahren zum Einfädeln von Lichtwellenleitern (71) in eine derartige optische Kopplungseinheit (1). Die Kopplungseinheit (1) umfasst eine erste Koppelseite (1e) zur optischen Kopplung mit dem mehrkanaligen optischen Steckelement (8), eine zweite Koppelseite (1f) zur optischen Kopplung mit dem mindestens einen opto-elektronischen Wandler (11) und eine Mehrzahl von in einer Ebene angeordneten Aufnahmeöffnungen (2) für Lichtwellenleiter (71), die von der ersten Koppelseite (1e) zur zweiten Koppelseite (1f) verlaufen. Erfindungsgemäss ist die Kopplungseinheit (1) einstückig ausgebildet, wobei die Aufnahmeöffnungen (2) zumindest teilweise im Inneren der Kopplungseinheit (1) verlaufen. Das Einfädeln von Lichtwellenleitern (71) in die einstückige Kopplungseinheit (1) erfolgt mit Hilfe eines optischen Steckelements (8), wobei Aufnahmeöffnungen (85) des optischen Steckelements (8) mit den Aufnahmeöffnungen (2) der Kopplungseinheit (1) fluchten.

According to the invention, the coupling unit (1) is embodied in a single piece and the receiving openings (2) extend at least partially inside the coupling unit (1). The optical wave guides (71) are inserted into the single-piece coupling unit (1) with the aid of an optical plug-in element (8).
