Abstract (en)

A weft holding device (10) in a fluid jet loom comprises pair holders (32, 34) and engaging mechanism. Each holder has weft holding portion for receiving the weft moving together with reed (12) and holding the weft. The weft holder portion is positioned between the most forward and backward positions of the reed. The weft holder portion has length in the warp moving direction shorter than the length of the swinging locus of the reed. A weft holding device in a fluid jet loom comprises pair holders and engaging mechanism. Each holder has weft holding portion for receiving the weft moving together with a reed and holding the weft. The weft holder portion is positioned between the most forward and backward positions of the reed. The weft holder portion has length in the warp moving direction shorter than the length of the swinging locus of the reed. The pair of holer is moved by a drive unit relative in their contacting and parting directions. The engaging mechanism engages the weft received in the weft holder portion and positioning relative to both holder.
