[origin: WO03013934A1] The invention relates to a lower locking device (3) for locking a sliding door (2) on a rail vehicle (1), comprising at least one longitudinal support (8). Said locking device (3) comprises a locking pouch (6) with a catchment area (12) for a lower end (11) of the sliding door (2). The locking pouch (6) is rotatably mounted on the longitudinal support (8) of the rail vehicle (1) and is connected to an actuation shaft (4) by at least one connecting rod (9). The actuation of said actuation shaft enables the locking pouch (6) to be arranged in a door fixing position as well as in a door releasing/receiving position.
