[origin: WO03011727A1] The invention relates to a method for the continuous winding of a web of material (12), especially a web of paper or cardboard, on a displaceable drum of a winding roller (20), whereby the web of material (12) is guided via a partial area of a lateral surface of a preferably displaceable support drum (18) and a winding gap (22) is formed between the support drum (18) and the drum (14) during the winding process when a linear force (LK) is produced, said force being produced by at least one pressing device (56) operating on the support drum (18) and/or winding roller (20), while the support drum (18) and the winding roller thus arising (20) are kept in contact with each other as much as possible during said winding process. The inventive method is characterized in that the linear force (LK) prevailing in the winding gap (22) is produced in a regulated or controlled manner by means of an electromechanical pressing unit (56.1) which comprises a two-sided receiving unit (58) for the support drum (18) and/or drum (14). The invention also relates to a winding machine (10) for carrying out the inventive method.
