[origin: WO03012280A1] The invention relates to a fuel transporting device comprising a transport unit (22) which is provided with an electric motor (32) in the form of a drive and a pump element (34) which is driven by said drive. Said pump element (34) is arranged in a staggered manner in relation to the electric motor, in the direction of the rotational axis (33) of the same. A filter (24) is arranged next to the transport unit (22) and fuel transported by the pump element (34) passes through said filter. The transport unit (22) and the filter (24) are arranged in separate chambers (18, 20) of a common housing (16), between which an overflow opening (60) is provided for the fuel transported by the pump element (34). The housing (16) is hermetically closed by means of a cover (26). The electric motor (32) and the pump element (34) are placed as separate modular units in a chamber (18) of the housing (16) and are braced against each other by means of at least one spring element (58) in the direction of the rotational axis (33) of the electric motor (32).
