[origin: EP1415557A1] The life-saving flying suit, especially for pilots who eject over water, is composed of a waterproof woven fabric (1) containing an air-permeable zone at the chest, with a ventilation channel (3) of an airtight material. The channel runs through the interior of the garment to give an air exchange between the air-permeable zone and the ambient atmosphere (7). The end (4) of the channel at the air-permeable zone is fastened to the inner side (11) of the fabric by a bonding seam (10), which is impermeable to water and air. The channel is filled with an air-permeable distance piece (12), to prevent the inner channel walls(13) sticking together.
