[origin: EP1416084A1] A papermaking assembly has a headbox which dispenses a regulated suspension of fibers and fluid to a moving bed. The ratio of fiber to fluid is regulated by first (12) and second (44) dilution assemblies, each with its own air-bleed unit (16, 20). The second dilution station has a defined mixing point (44) located between a volume-regulated pump (42) delivering the mixture as a jet, and a second pump (56). The second pump draws the second-stage suspension at a rate which is dependent upon the operating speed of the first and second pumps, pref. at a rate of 1500 to 2000 litres/min. the mixer station is located immediately prior to the headbox pump (56).
