[origin: EP1416127A1] The motor vehicle internal combustion engine poppet valve has a stem (20) sliding in a guide (30). A sleeve (40) encloses the stem and is at least partially incorporated into the end of the guide. The sleeve and guide are coaxial. The embedded end of the sleeve can have a textured surface to aid retention.
