[origin: EP1416339A2] The scale is divided into an even number of straight-line sections (1,2) of equal length, arranged parallel to each other. The time cycle to be displayed is divided into the same number of sections, and these are applied along the scale sections in opposite directions. The pointer (6) is moved evenly along a path parallel to the scale sections, and direction of movement of the pointer reverses when each end of a scale section is reached.
