[origin: WO03079131A1] The invention relates to a switching circuit for producing an adjustable output characteristic, comprising a constant-voltage control-circuit which receives a supply voltage and produces a constant output voltage, a current sink section which receives a control voltage and according to said control voltage, produces a control current which causes an alteration of the output voltage; also comprising a limiter section which receives a lower and a higher voltage limit and which selectively blocks or releases the current sink section. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for producing an output characteristic.
