Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02080314A1] The invention relates to a commutator (22; 22a; 22b), for a multi-pole commutator motor (14), with at least four stator poles (16 - 19) and with armature windings (31 - 42), co-operating therewith, each electrically connected to two commutator bars (1 - 12) on the commutator (22; 22a; 22b), for purposes of supply, the number of which is greater than the number of the stator poles (16 - 19). The armature windings (31 - 42) are connected in parallel, by means of armature-side electrical bridge conductors (43 - 48), to form armature poles with equivalent magnetic orientation, in order to reduce the number of brushes (20, 21; 23, 24) contacted by commutator (22; 22a; 22b). According to the invention, the bridge connectors (43 - 48) for the above commutator (22; 22a; 22b) form a part of the commutator (22; 22a; 22b). The invention further relates to a multi-pole commutator motor (14) provided with such a commutator (22; 22a; 22b).
