[origin: WO03007297A1] To reduce loss of the reading light, a multilayer optical disc (figure 1, disk), such as a disc in a CD or DVD format, has multiple layers (figure 1, layer) with pits or tracks and a reflective material only in the pits or tracks. The disc can be used as a ROM or WORM disc. A methods of making it are also disclosed.
