[origin: WO03019596A1] The invention relates to a key-operated switch for a motor vehicle, especially for activating and deactivating a passenger airbag. Said key-operated switch comprises a closing cylinder (4) which is arranged in a housing (1). The rotor (7) of said cylinder is connected to an actuating element by means of a front-side driving element (8), said actuating element being used to actuate main switching contacts associated with fixed contacts. The actuating element is embodied as a rotary switch element (9) comprising a contact bridge (10) having a plurality of wipers (11). Said wipers (11) are used as main switching contacts and co-operate with contact strips (12) used as fixed contacts.
