Production of a pattern and a corresponding relief on the upper side of a wood composite plate by pressing with a plate with a previously applied plastics cover layer on the upper side of the composite so as to produce a relief from a matrix operating with the pressing plate is such that the pattern and the relief are introduced simultaneously into the cover layer. An Independent claim is also included a process in which the cover layer is of melamine resin-impregnated paper.

Ein Verfahren zum Erzeugen eines Dekors, insbesondere eines Holzdekors, und eines zum Dekor korrespondierenden Reliefs auf der Oberseite einer Holzwerkstoffplatte, die in einer Presse mittels einer Pressplatte mit einer zuvor auf die Oberseite der Holzwerkstoffplatte aufgebrachten Deckschicht aus einem Kunstharz, insbesondere einer mit Melaminharz getränkten Papierschicht, verpresst wird, wobei das Relief von einer mit der Pressplatte zusammenwirkenden Matrize beim Verpressen geprägt wird, zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass das Dekor und das Relief gleichzeitig in die Decksicht eingebracht werden.
