Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1419967A1] Process for testing rod-shaped objects, especially cigarettes (12), uses at least one plunger (21) axially displaceably mounted in at least one displaceable testing element (20). Each testing element is displaced in the direction of the objects and each plunger is deviated on contact with an object to produce an electrically evaluatable signal. On production of this signal the position of the testing element is determined and evaluated. In the case of a number of plungers, the position of each testing element is determined for each signal produced by each plunger. An Independent claim is also included for a device used for testing rod-shaped objects, especially cigarettes.
