Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1420125A2] Device for locking together interconnected structural panels (1a, 2a), especially floor panels, comprises a core of wood material having on at least one edge a groove (4a) and on the opposite-lying edge a tongue (3a) corresponding to the groove. Two interconnected panels are locked together by the tongue and groove connection in a horizontal (H) or a vertical direction (V). The tongue and the groove are each provided with at least one recess (5). The recesses lie opposite each other when the plates are interconnected. An insert (7) engaging in the recesses has at least one elastic lip (7') which is used to lock the panel in the other, either vertical or horizontal, direction. Preferred Features: The insert is a plastic injection-molded part having two lips.
