Hinge (1), preferably for furniture, comprises a moving hinge part (3) and a hinge part (2) consisting of a fixed stop part which are joined together by at least one hinge axis (7), and a damping device held on one of the hinge parts and having a moving damping element loaded at least in the closing region of the hinge via gear devices of the other hinge part. At least three moving gear elements, of which one is the damping element, are provided for adjusting the moving damping element as a function of the pivoting of the moving hinge part relative to the hinge axis. Preferred Features: The damping device is a rotation damper (16) having a damping element (19) supporting a pinion gear (20).

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Scharnier mit einem beweglichen Scharnierteil und einem aus einem festen Anschlagteil bestehenden Scharnierteil, die durch mindestens eine Gelenkachse miteinander verbunden sind, und mit einer an einem der Scharnierteile gehalterten Dämpfungseinrichtung, deren translatorisch oder drehbar bewegbares Dämpfungsglied mindestens im Schließbereichs des Scharniers über Getriebemittel von dem anderen Scharnierteil beaufschlagt ist. Erfindungsgemäß sind zur Verstellung des beweglichen Dämpfungsgliedes in Abhängigkeit von der Verschwenkung des beweglichen Scharnierteils bezogen auf die mindestens eine Gelenkachse mindestens drei bewegliche Getriebeglieder vorgesehen, von denen eins das Dämpfungsglied selbst ist. <IMAGE>
