Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03018227A1] The invention relates to a flange device (1), for production of a flanged edge (2) to a workpiece (3, 4), by roll folding, with at least two folding steps. An articulated arm robot has one robot arm to which a machine unit (9) is connected. A folding roller (10), in the form of a pressure roller is rotatably mounted on the controlled, moving machine unit (9), which may be rolled along in contact with the flanged edge (2), applying pressure at a set angular position for production thereof. A support element (11), arranged opposite the flanged edge, is further provided for the folding roller (10). According to the invention, the support element (11), rotatably mounted on the machine unit (9) in the form of a support roller, in the region of the folding roller (10), comprises a support roller edge (16) around the circumference thereof, which may be rolled along the folding line (22) of the flanged edge (2) as support for the positionally-accurate formation thereof, at least during the first folding step.
