[origin: WO03018232A1] The invention relates to a device for cooling plate or strip-type material by creating a fan jet that is directed onto the material to be cooled. Said device comprises: a first housing (2) consisting of cast steel, which extends over the width of the fan jet; a strip (6), which is connected to a first wall (3) of the first housing (2) and together with a second wall (4) of the first housing (2) forms a fan jet nozzle; a second housing (11) consisting of cast steel, which is connected to the first housing (2) at a distance from the strip and has at least one connection (15) for introducing a cooling medium; and a distributor plate (15) provided with passages (14), which is positioned between the two housings (2, 11), separating the interior chambers of the latter from one another.
