[origin: WO03018997A1] The invention relates to a compensation element for supporting a fuel injection valve (6) in a cylinder head (7) of an internal combustion engine. Said compensation element is embodied as an intermediate ring (2) and is arranged between the valve housing (14) of the fuel injection valve (6) and a wall (12) of a receiving borehole (11) in the cylinder head (7). The compensation element (1) comprises connecting sections (3) on the intermediate ring (2), said sections extending along the valve housing (14). Supporting segments (4) are fixed to said connecting sections and surround the valve housing (14), distancing the same from the wall (12) of the receiving borehole (11).
