[origin: EP1422308A1] Spray powder comprises particles forming an agglomerate-like micro-structure (2) formed by a number of adhering grains (3). The grains consist of functional materials. An additive (4) is formed on the surfaces (30) of the functional material grains in the boundary zones (5). The additive exerts a limiting or biding action. Independent claims are also included for: (a) process for the production of a spray powder; and (b) coated substrate having a thermal barrier coating.
