[origin: EP1422328A1] A yarn (2) runs over a contact surface (21), which is mounted on a body (4) vibrating at resonant frequency under the excitation of a vibration generator (3). The generator can be electro-magnetic, piezo-electric (42), magneto-strictive, or mechanical. Electro-magnetic energy can be supplied to the generator by wireless transmission. The resonating body can be the yarn storage drum of a positive yarn feeder on a textile machine, especially a loom. It can also be a yarn guide on a weaving rotor on a multi-phase weaving machine.
