Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1422470A1] The headlamp assembly (200) includes a main reflector (202) and a projection lens (203). The lens is surrounded by a reflecting ring (205). On the output surface of the lens, the lens is deformed (206) in order to deflect some of the light passing through the edge of the lens on to the reflecting ring (205). This light is then reflected into the main beam direction. The headlamp assembly (200) for a vehicle includes a lamp filament (201) situated at the heart of a main reflector (202). The optical axis (204) of the reflector, which also includes the filament, also forms the optical axis of a projection lens (203). The lens is surrounded by a reflecting ring (205). On the output surface of the lens, the lens is deformed (206). This serves to deflect some of the light emerging from the reflector and passing through the edge of the lens on to the reflecting ring (205) which is situated around the lens. This light in the reflected by the ring in order to travel forward in the direction of the main beam. This does not interfere with the main beam which must conform to certain standards.
