Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1422472A2] The elliptical projector for a motor vehicle headlight has a bulb (16) and an elliptical reflector (14) with one locus situated adjacent to the bulb. A convergent lens (18) has its focal plane passing close to the second locus of the ellipse. There are first (24) and second (26) masks positioned axially in the optical axis (A-A) of the projector between the reflector and the lens. The masks can pivot around the same axis (B-B).
