[origin: EP1422490A1] The break in resistant panel for a door has an armored panel (10) and a grill (14) on one face (12) of the panel, formed of slats (16,18) perpendicular to the face of the panel. A cover panel (26) of weaker material covers the grill and forms a continuous surface (15) exposed to a break in attempt. The distance between the panel face and the grill is at least ten millimeters. The slats can have a thickness of between one and three millimeters.
