[origin: WO02087698A1] The invention relates to a method for improving human well-being, in particular for the irradiation of nose, throat and/or tonsillar tissue. Radiation (12', 12''), preferably monochromatic in nature, is generated by at least one light diode (4) and guided to the tissue for irradiation by means of a light guide (8), and emitted there in a preferably diffuse distribution. A novel irradiation device (1), provided for the above, comprises an energy source (2), housed therein, the light source (4) embodied as a light diode, a current supply circuit (6), connecting the light source to the energy supply and a circuit for regulating the energy supply to the light source.
