Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03020552A1] The invention relates to a control unit (10) which is disposed under the steering wheel and which is used to control different motor vehicle functions such as window wiping and/or lighting. The inventive unit is of the type that comprises at least one control device (16, 18), which is controlled by the front end (20, 22) of a lever (24, 26) while the free rear end (42, 44) thereof can be actuated by the user. Said control device is at least partially disposed in the side part (28, 30) of a case which is essentially oriented in a transverse manner. The central part (34) of said case is inserted axially between the dashboard (12) and a central projecting part (40) of the steering wheel (14) which extends forward axially from the transverse plane of the rim (36) of the steering wheel (14). The inventive unit is characterised in that said side part (28, 30) is oriented along a backward inclined direction (d1, d2) in relation to the essentially transverse orientation of the case (32).
