[origin: WO03018456A1] The invention relates to a winder for winding meterware (6) such as optical waveguides or copper conductors into coils, comprising a winding body (1b) on which a predetermined length of the material is wound. The winding body (1b) is required only during winding of the optical waveguide. After the coil (7) has been prepared, it is removed (7) with the definitely positioned ends (61, 62) from the winding body (1) and then transferred to a sequential position (8b) for further processing or storage.
