Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0183356A1] A transport lift (10) has a base (12) and two spaced-apart legs (30, 32) are slidingly mounted on the base for movement toward and away from each other. Wheels (34, 36, 38) support the base and legs for rolling movement. Leg motor drive means (62) operate to drive the two spaced-apart legs toward and away from each other to vary the straddle spacing between the legs. A lift column (14) extends generally vertically from the base. Lift drive means (16) are associated with the lift column for driving an end effectuator (18) along the lift column, the end of effectuator adapted for engaging a load. A programmable controller (90) operates the lift drive means to position the end effectuator at at least one predetermined height position on the lift column. The controller is adapted for storing a plurality of height adjustments as sequential steps, and the controller operates the lift drive means to place the end effectuator sequentially at the sequence of predetermined height positions.
