[origin: WO0150319A2] The present invention relates to a system and method for providing a license management system wherein customers utilize computers to connect to a license management system via a communication medium. Customers interact with the license management system via a communication medium to obtain copies of various pieces of content. In addition, the customers interact with the license management system via a communication medium to obtain licenses for accessing the content. The license management system can be used with varying types of content and allows the owner of the content to have full control of access to the content.
