[origin: EP1424030A1] The lower part (15) of the armrest support element is attached with its lower end to the seat area and accommodated with its upper end inside the upper part (11) which carries the actual armrest (20). An inner element (17) is kept in position by a hook shaped extension (17.2) located at its upper end joined to the upper element and a projection (18) engaging with one of several recesses (16) provided at the inner surface of the part (15). For adjustment a button (17.1) is pressed and the lower end (18) of the inner element (17) released in order to be moved to the recess (16) located at the required height.
