[origin: WO03024287A1] The invention relates to a device which enables large items of mail or parcels to be delivered securely without the recipient being at home. The device is to be securely anchored to or in the outside of a building and comprises a housing with a delivery chamber and a storage chamber communicating via a transfer opening, which can be opened and closed by means of a rolling closure member. A delivery opening gives access to the delivery chamber. The closure member is guided such that when the delivery opening is open the transfer opening is closed and vice versa so that the item of mail or parcel is delivered securely. The item of mail or parcel can be removed via a closable door or shutter from the storage.
