[origin: WO03025306A1] A substantially planar locating device (10) for locating tiles (16) has a plurality of spacers (12, 14) upstanding from a first side (11) of the device (10). The second side (13) of the device (10) is substantially planar for placing against a substantially planar surface. The device (10) has a plurality of through holes (20) extending through the device (10) from the first side (11) to the second side (13). In use, tiles (16) can be placed against the first side (11) of the device (10) and be spaced apart from each other by the spacers (12, 14). Adhesive can pass from the first side (11) through the through holes (20) to the second side (13) to fix tiles (16) to a surface against which the second side (13) is placed.
