[origin: WO03024019A1] The present invention relates to a method, a system and a computer-readable medium storing computer-executable components for authenticating a digital pen. The invention is based on the idea that a paper look-up server issues an authentication receipt used by a service handler to authenticate a digital pen. The authentication receipt comprises such information that the service handler can use it to authenticate the digital pen without having to communicate with the paper look-up server.
