[origin: EP1429037A1] The three-position rotary actuator has a first drive unit (2) with a first piston (7) rotatable relative to a first housing (4), and a driven shaft (6) connected to the piston and set in an oscillating rotational movement around a central axis between two end positions when the piston is pressurized by fluid. A coupling component is connected to the driven shaft and executes a pivoting movement relative to the central axis when the driven shaft rotates. A second drive unit (3) co-axial with the first has a second piston (13) and second housing (27) rotatable around the central axis relative to each other and relative to the first housing. The second housing and second piston each have a driver which during a rotational movement execute a pivoting movement in relation to the central axis.
