The device is also provided with an insert (7) inside the rotary screen of the coating device, said insert reducing the free volume inside the rotary screen (2) by at least 50 %. This permits an advantageous reduction of the quantity of required surplus material, thus producing a significant cost-saving, in particular for small coating surfaces or small numbers of substrates to be coated.
