[origin: WO03026980A1] The invention relates to a screw cap for containers, especially for bottles. The inventive screw cap comprises a bottom from which a peripheral jacket extends which is provided with a retaining device for fixating the screw cap on the container, and a securing strip, provided on the rim of the jacket facing away from the bottom and linked with the screw cap via a specified rupture line. The securing strip has at least one expansion zone that preferably effects an extensibility of the securing strip at an angle of its periphery. The screw cap is further characterized in that the securing strip (11) has at least one elastic zone (39) that is formed by the lower section of the securing strip (11) between a retaining web (29) and an elastic retaining strip (35).
