Abstract (en)
There is disclosed an article of footwear, such as a football boot, adapted to provide grip and purchase on a ball. The article of footwear comprises a sole and an upper disposed on said sole and having an outer surface. A ball control region is attached to the outer surface of the upper, and is comprised of a plurality of interrelated layers. One of the layers includes a material of a different hardness to that of at least one other of the layers. There is also disclosed an article of footwear such as a football boot wherein the ball control region includes a throat region, a medial region and a lateral region, one of these regions including a material of a different hardness to that of another of the regions.
